The Last Ship season 5 episode 10 (series finale): The final battle

Next week on The Last Ship season 5 episode 10, it all ends. The series is coming to a conclusion, and the same goes (hopefully) for this war. You’ve got Chandler on one side of things now, and then Gustavo on the other. We’ve already lost many significant lives (including a big one tonight), and there could be so much more bloodshed by the time we reach the end of the road.

This is not the sort of story that you can say much about in advance, largely because everything is so epic and there’s just one word to describe it: War. We’re on the midst of some of the greatest battles that we’ve ever seen within this series. You’ve got a number of characters putting their lives on the line in order to ensure that the Gran Colombian forces are stopped and the world gets a little more peaceful. If that doesn’t happen, then you have to brace for a situation where the series ends in chaos and sadness. Nobody wants that.

That’s not altogether descriptive, but there are a number of big things that you should still know entering this installment. For example, the producers didn’t necessarily know at the time they were putting this episode together that it would be the last one. Maybe they had some suspicions, but nothing was altogether certain. With that, we wouldn’t be altogether shocked if the finale does offer some closure while also leaving a few things open for whatever is going to be coming up down the line.
