‘Shiptober 2018: Hawaii Five-0 (Steve & Danny) vs. Grey’s Anatomy (Owen & Amelia)
It’s a chance to celebrate some of the greatest ‘ships that the TV has to offer, and we’ve got a fun tournament this year to go along with it. Over the course of this month, we’ll be running some ‘Shiptober polls while also discussing what makes some of these couples so great and also sharing some teases / expectations for upcoming episodes! This is a chance to celebrate and discuss great ‘ships while gauging their popularity among readers at the same time. Only one ‘ship will be crowned the victor at the very end!
Voting Rules – Vote however often you like! Only one ‘ship of the two competing here are going to make it to the grand finale. Voting for this round closes on Monday, October 29 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time, and the final round officially begins the following day.
Today, the final four concludes with Steve & Danny of Hawaii five-0 officially squaring off against Owen & Amelia of Grey’s Anatomy. We expect this battle to be exciting, with only one ‘ship eventually making it to the big finale.
Steve & Danny, Hawaii Five-0 (#3 seed) – What McDanno fans have done in ‘Shiptober to date is beyond impressive. First, we saw them be able to take down a ‘ship in Torres & Bishop from one of TV’s most-watched shows in NCIS. Then, they were able to defeat Oliver & Felicity from Arrow, who are one of the most-popular pairings in the entire Arrowverse. Finally, they defeated a pair in Lucifer & Chloe from Lucifer who have dominated the polls in the past. Suffice it to say, they’ve had a fantastic run and it’s not over yet. Leading up to the big 200th episode, what better celebration of the show and these characters, who have been through thick and thin together, than a win here?
Owen & Amelia, Grey’s Anatomy (#5 seed) – As great as McDanno’s run has been through the tournament so far, you can say the same exact thing for Omelia. These two characters managed to take down the immense Clace – Shadowhunters fandom in round one, and were also the first ‘ship to topple a #1 seed in this tournament in Densi. Meanwhile, in round 3 they were able to take down Wayhaught from Wynonna Earp, a group with an incredibly-passionate internet following. Despite being seeded as an underdog in every single battle to date, they’ve still found a way to persevere. They now have a chance to enter the final round, and at the same time as a big storyline for Omelia is unfolding on Grey’s Anatomy. Let’s just say that Owen is about to learn some important information…
