Outlander notes: The latest Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Richard Rankin videos!

Outlander season 4

The premiere for Outlander season 4 is coming right around the corner, and we remain as excited for it as ever. Luckily, the same enthusiasm can continue to be seen within the cast and crew.

In this edition of show notes, we are taking you think a couple new videos (or at least newly-released) featuring cast members talking about what’s next. Both were, ironically, filmed many weeks ago. The first one features Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe in promotion for the new season starting off on the W Network. We don’t necessarily think that there is a whole lot here in the way of new footage, but that doesn’t matter all that much since it’s still fun to see the actors discussing the show. The new season is going to premiere on W on November 4 — the same day that it is also launching in America on Starz.

There are three things that we would say describe the new season, these are them: A new home, Brianna’s journey, and culture clashes. We’ll see if these are totally accurate when the series actually airs.

Meanwhile, the second video is the latest in a series featuring cast members and Leanne Aguilera of Entertainment Tonight. This time around, Richard Rankin is the focus! Here, he discusses Roger’s journey in full, the Scottish Festival scenes that he shot with Sophie Skelton, and also some of the different layers to the story. He also talked about how he prepared for the musical performance, one of the more memorable scenes for the season. (Of course, there’s another notable Roger scene coming, but that’s something we’ll stay hush-hush on for now for those who do not know the story.)

As always, Rankin is well worth the price of admission, even if the price for this video is technically nothing. He brings a good sense of humor and vivacity to virtually everything that he does.
