Blue Bloods season 9 episode 3 video: Why is Eddie leaving family dinner?

Blue Bloods season 9

Blue Bloods season 9 to date has been a story of many adjustments, and that is especially the case when it comes to Eddie. As it turns out, being engaged to Jamie isn’t as easy as it seems — after all, he comes with a whole family!

In the video, you can see Eddie storm off from the family dinner table after some of the family ridicules her over the way in which she says Grace — while it’s playful ribbing in their mind, she doesn’t necessarily view it the same way. To her, it feels a little bit more like they are ganging up on her, and she’s trying to hard to impress them that it’s confusing that it is not working out anywhere near how she had planned. She wants nothing more than to be a part of the family and to fit in, but it’s difficult when other people have a different understand of what “welcoming you to the family” really means.

While we know Eddie to be a pretty tough, mentally-strong character, you have to remember that she is being vulnerable here. Prayer is a special thing to many people, and it’s not altogether easy to feel like you are being mocked for something that is so personal. Also, this isn’t the first time the Reagans have been hard on Eddie — they’ve done it almost every time she’s been at family dinner since her debut there at the end of last season. Eventually, they have to start to let down the walls. They’re not used to having a new person there, and they need to understand that other people don’t automatically speak their language.

What do you think the Reagans can do in order to better rectify this particular situation? Share now in the comments!
