Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 4 preview: The first tribe swap is here!

Survivor: David vs. Goliath

What lies ahead on Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 4? Let’s just say that the first tribe swap of the season is here!

After just three episodes, next week we’re going to see these groups reassemble, and that could mean some surprising new developments and alliances. On paper, it seems like some people here will fare better than others; it seems like John Hennigan is proving himself already to be super-likable, and people like him or Alison or Christian, who make themselves endearing to those around them, will fare well.

Yet, tribal lines could matter quite a bit here. Take, for example, what happens if an alpha-male type like Dan ends up surrounded by members of the David tribe. Regardless of how social a player her is, he may need to use his idol since he is a threat.

On the surface, it does feel like the Goliath tribe is going to have an advantage, but with them having 9 remaining players to 8 remaining members of the David tribe, it’s hard to envision many scenarios where they are going to have an advantage on both tribes. The closest thing that they can hope for is a 5 – 3 advantage on one tribe, a 4 -4 advantage on the other, and the remaining David gets sent off to a version of exile island. (It is interesting that we’re getting a tribe swap with an uneven number. Either one tribe will have an advantage or someone is going to be shipped off elsewhere. It’s a little too early to tell how they will handle that.)

As for who we’re worried about, Gabby is shown breaking down in the preview and it was mentioned tonight that she has cried a lot so far this season; meanwhile, Bi seems to be hurt and Natalie does have a tendency to rub people the wrong way. She could be an easy vote. Nick plays a little hard, so that could put a target on his back.
