Chicago PD season 6 episode 4 spoilers: Burgess faces a key choice
One of the more interesting things about this episode on paper is just the idea of a ride along itself. Typically when you are talking about this sort of thing, you are doing so within the context of someone just training for a gig (such as a move role) or to get a better idea as to what police officers actually do on a fairly regular basis. It’s not often you see these presented on television in a more serious setting.

While it is unclear as to whether or not Burgess’ story in this episode is connected to the ride along itself, the synopsis below does give you an opportunity to see what her role is:
10/17/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : A ride along goes sideways, and Burgess (Marina Squerciati) is faced with a difficult choice: follow the advice of Voight (Jason Beghe), or a potential new ally.
This more or less proves that the Kim character is in a tricky, precarious position throughout this episode, one where her loyalty to Voight is going to pull her in own direction, whereas potential loyalty to someone else could send her another way. It never hurts to have new allies, but at the same time Voight is not the sort of cop who is entirely forgiving. If you go against him with something like this, you really do have to prepare for whatever the blowback there could be. It may not be pretty, so we wish Burgess the best with that.
