Arrow season 7: Stephen Amell teases surprise crossover costume

On last year’s big Arrowverse crossover, we saw Stephen Amell play a very different sort of iteration of Oliver Queen. Basically, the Earth-X iteration of the character was a villain and completely different from the Earth-1 version. It was a lot of fun to see him play this character in a different way and after playing Oliver Queen for so many years it must’ve been fun to switch it up a bit.

So, could we see another dramatic change again? Based on the information we have now, that definitely seems possible. In a new post on Twitter (which CarterMatt has for you to see below), Amell made it clear that “never could’ve imagined” the outfit that he is going to be wearing for Elseworlds, the big crossover event coming this December. Does this mean that he is not playing the Earth-1 version of Oliver Queen? That’s certainly possible, especially since the crossover event is going to feature Batwoman and it’s not entirely clear what world that character lives in. It’s possible that she is on Earth-23 and there, we could see Oliver Queen as Batman for all we know. That’s what is somewhat fun about the Arrowverse at the moment -There are so many different directions that the writers could go in that it’s almost endless it terms of creativity and storytelling.

Are we going to have a chance to learn more about Oliver’s costume before the crossover airs? Probably, but there is a part of us that wishes that we wouldn’t, mostly because of the fact that the element of surprise is something that we rarely get in the Arrowverse, where so many photos and teases are shared in advance.

One other thing that is interesting to think about here is that if Amell is wearing a completely different outfit, it’s certainly possible that some of the other cast members are going to be in the same boat wearing costumers that are different as well.
