The Amazing Race Canada 7 renewal: Will it happen on CTV?
At the moment, it seems like a given that we’re going to be seeing more of the reality competition show again, mostly because the sixth season (titled The Amazing Race Canada: Heroes Edition) turned out to be such an enormous success for the network. This series has long been one of Canada’s most-popular shows, and this year seemed to even invigorate the audience in new ways. We think that having a designated theme this time around helped the show, as they were able to have a number of instantly-likable teams that people wanted to get behind all over Canada.
Of course, we do think that they will probably need to come up with a new theme for next season, largely because it’s hard to just go another season all about heroes when keeping things fresh will and should be a priority. We don’t think that there’s all that much that really needs to change about the series itself — we would probably get rid of the Face-Off as a twist, but that is mostly due to the fact that it causes some teams to lose whatever advantage they had just because they have to wait for the team behind them to turn up.
As for when The Amazing Race Canada 7 will most-likely premiere, at the moment we’re betting on the summer of 2019. There is no real reason to change things up, mostly because what they are doing at the moment really works for them in terms of commercial success. They also don’t want to over-saturate the market. We think that one of the reasons why the show does so well is because it’s only on once a year and viewers miss it when it is not around.
