Crime Dynamic Duos: Lucifer (Lucifer / Chloe) vs. Blue Bloods (Danny / Baez)

Welcome to CarterMatt’s Crime Dynamic Duos 2018! This is the third year in which we’re doing this tournament, which is a way to honor some of the best crime-solvers in all of TV. This tournament runs throughout the month of August, and over the course of it we describe what makes certain pairs the perfect crime-fighting duo while also allowing you to share some of your thoughts on the competition! Each article is accompanied with a description and a poll; the winning duo will advance to the next round leading up to the winner being announced on September 1!

What are the rules of the tournament? Basically, all eligible shows have to still be in the midst of their run on TV as of August 1, and at least one character involved needs to be involved in solving crimes in some capacity. They can be a cop, a private investigator, a federal agent, a lawyer or a high-ranking officer. What matters is that they put plenty of bad people away.

Voting Rules – Vote however often you like! Voting for Round 3 is open until Friday, August 24 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time; round 4 will officially kick off on August 25, and at that point, we will have arrived to the final four pairs!

Today, round 3 is coming to a close with a pair of formidable duos — Lucifer and Chloe from Lucifer squaring off against Danny and Baez from Blue Bloods. Voting is only going to be open for a little more than 24 hours, so if you want to vote, you have to do so quickly!

Lucifer and Chloe, Lucifer (#1 seed) – It shouldn’t be all that much of a shock that these two characters have made it to the third round, mostly because of their seeding and also how the #SaveLucifer movement has united a number of fans from all over the world. Now that the series is saved, there is still a lot to celebrate … especially when it comes to the story that likely lies ahead for these characters. You have to imagine that Chloe knowing the truth about Lucifer’s secret is going to change things, but in the end, you still want to hope that both professionally and personally, they are going to be able to work their issues out.

Danny and Baez, Blue Bloods (#3 seed) – This is the second straight year in which the two characters have made it fairly far into the tournament, but is this the year that they could actually win? We’ll have to wait and see on that given that this is going to be easily the biggest challenge that they have faced to date. They’re one of the most reliable dynamic duos on the list — they don’t necessarily get a lot of attention as a partnership, but yet they are incredible successful at what they do. Beyond that, they have a caring and supportive relationship. They are hard on each other when they need to be, but also are there in times of personal crisis.
