Unforgotten season 3 episode 6 (finale) spoilers: Who killed Hayley Reid?
So far during the season, we’ve seen many suspects examined and others crossed out. Meanwhile, we’ve also seen many other people suffer through what have been some really terrible times.
Yet, moving forward, there does have to be an answer not only in terms of who killed Hayley and also way. It appears, at least at the moment, that James Hollis and Peter Carr were telling the truth. Moving into the finale, it does appear as though Timothy Finch is one of the lead suspects, but with an hour still to go in this season, there’s plenty of time for him to be able to get out of this. (Finch was arrested near the end of tonight’s episode.)
We do think that there are two different approaches that Unforgotten can take as it moves into the final episode, with one being trying to figure out a way in which to shock viewers. We definitely understand the need to create these jaw-dropping conclusions so that it gets people talking about everything that is happening. Yet, there’s also a school of thought to make the person responsible someone who we’ve thought about all along, and just have them make a certain degree of sense insofar as the story goes. There are compelling cases for both, but we’ll see precisely where this story pans out in the end. We just how that it makes sense, if it’s a big shock, and not just something done for the sake of the “shocking” people.
We’ll of course be back next week with more information, including the big reveal at the center of the story.
