Save Shadowhunters: How Teen Choice Awards may be biggest stage to date

Shadowhunters season 2 finale review

On Sunday night, the Teen Choice Awards are going to be airing on Fox and with that, we have to cross our fingers and hope Shadowhunters gets a little bit of screen time.

Why is that? Well, it’s possible that this particular event could be the biggest opportunity for the series to date to draw a significant amount of attention to its cause in a public forum. If you are an active fan of the show on the internet, odds are you have a good grasp as to what is going on already. We’ve seen a number of incredible #SaveShadowhunters campaigns already and we don’t think that they are slowing down any time soon!

Yet, let’s say here that you’re a viewer who watches Shadowhunters when it is on, but don’t really read much news about it on the internet. Sunday night is a wonderful opportunity for the series to get a little bit of press. Just by having some of the actors there (Harry Shum Jr. has confirmed that he will be present), there’s a chance to remind everyone that this is a series that should still be around and has an active following. If someone affiliated with the show has a chance to actually say the words “save Shadowhunters,” that obviously does go a long way towards giving the campaign more exposure. So long as someone like Shum gets a chance to speak and discuss the impact the series had on them, that should be enough to galvanize the movement in a big way.

Rest assured, we’re going to be watching the TCAs this weekend closely to see what happens, and if Shadowhunters gets some of the love and attention that they deserve then this is the biggest chance, on national TV, to make a big difference for the cause.
