More Shadowhunters season 3 teases, hype, and news to know

Seelie Queen

There’s a number of different Shadowhunters odds and ends that we want to get to in this piece, starting off here with simply this: The Seelie Queen photo above! This is one of the best looks that we’ve had a chance to receive to date of Kimberly Sue-Murray as the iconic character, who she is taking over at Sarah Hyland previously played the older version of the role.

You will see this particular version of the Seelie Queen (who can change her age really at will) at some point over the course of the second half of season 3 … which is still, regrettably, not coming on the air until early next year. We keep waiting for the day Freeform changes their minds and moves it forward, but that hasn’t happened just yet, unfortunately.

As for some other new stories…

A new tease via Matt Hastings – Apparently, season 3 episode 20 (which was originally supposed to be the season 3 finale) is going to have some of the coolest, strongest visual effects that we’ve seen to date with the series. This is always a challenge for a show like Shadowhunters given that they have a limited budget to deal with, but somehow, the series finds a way to make a lot out of at times a little. We’re excited to see what lies ahead here.

If you missed it… – Season 3 filming wrapped over the weekend. Read more about that here, and check out the video below — subscribe to our YouTube channel for more of the latest.

New CBC report coming – This is something we’re very excited to see, just because the CBC puts out some of the best work out there. They were a go-to for us when we lived in Toronto and it’s really excited to see as of late the local media there put some love into the show for all of its work there. Just remember that they have so many reasons to be invested in Shadowhunters — it’s a great series with a fantastic message, but it also employs hundreds of people and provides so many opportunities for local performers and crew members.
