The Good Doctor season 2 could introduce Dr. Glassman’s daughter

The Good Doctor season 2

When The Good Doctor season 2 premieres on ABC this fall, there are going to be more emotional stories for Dr. Glassman. This time around, though, it’s not going to be related to his cancer battle.

Instead, a new report from TVLine notes that we are going to have a chance to meet Glassman’s daughter over the course of the second season. However, there is a rather sad twist to this role: She’s actually been dead. Not only that, but Maddie has been dead for a rather long time. That’s a hard thing to digest, and we wonder how exactly the series is going to present the character. Is she appearing within flashbacks or dream sequences? We can easily envision both.

As a matter of fact, we wouldn’t be shocked if we were to learn that Maddie manifests to Glassman as he confronts his own mortality. He could be imagining her showing him the other side, or giving him some sort of comfort.

No matter how we meet her, we really just how that this is going to lead to an opportunity to see more great Richard Schiff scenes. When you’ve got an actor of this caliber, you really do want to use them as much as you possibly can. We definitely do think that there is potential here for there to be some emotional stuff, though there’s also going to be so much more beyond what we’ve listed here. Remember that we’ve gotten a great chance to see the relationship between Shaun and Dr. Glassman develop already over the past year. It’s clear that there is room to bring in so much more into the equation.
