Is it possible that Barry Allen could get a new suit on The Flash season 5? Based on some of the evidence that is out there, it seems like it is possible.
There’s been some speculation on the subject of a new suit for Barry Allen for some time, starting with some sightings on set of a suit (and a Flash emblem) that actually feels more like season 1 than the ones we’ve seen as of late. There’s also been some other chatter about the design and then also some new comments that Grant Gustin himself made in an interview with Riker Lynch:
“The suit that I wore for four years, it was easy enough to get into … It was a jacket and pants, and they were leather.”
Does this mean that he is in a different suit now? We do think that this could still be up to interpretation, but it is an interesting thing to think about. We do not necessarily think that we need to see Barry Allen in a new suit, mostly because it feels like these costumes for many heroes in the Arrowverse change far too often and for very little reason. The Supergirl costume is one of the only real consistent ones, given that it’s been basically the same with a few tiny tweaks here and there over the years. We just think that what really matters is the story that you surround the hero with, and that’s the key point moving into season 5. We’re reasonably confident with what the writers are doing given that it feels like they’ve had this plan for a while when it comes to Nora West-Allen and Cicada as a Big Bad. (Of course, we also say that as someone who mostly enjoyed the fourth season, which could be a rather polarizing take at this point.)
