Lethal Weapon season 3 spoilers: Seann William Scott character revealed
According to a new report coming in right now via Deadline, the actor is going to be playing a man named Wesley Cole on the series who is a war veteran, a father, and a possible new partner to Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) on the series. We imagine that this is a guy the producers are going to do their best to introduce in the early going of season 3 in hopes of winning some fans over following the messy conclusion to the Clayne Crawford saga this past spring.
We certainly do feel for Scott given the situation that he’s going into, when he is just an actor trying to take a job following the exit of someone very much polarizing. There are certainly many viewers who have already said that they will refuse to even check out the new show without Martin Riggs as a part of it. We hope that some do give him a chance, but at the end of the day, the success of Lethal Weapon will be defined by its viewership. If it does get canceled, at least there will probably be some time for the crew to anticipate it this coming year so that they have some time to seek out some other work.
To go along with this report, it is also worth noting that Psych alum Maggie Lawson is going to be coming on board the series as a recurring player this season, playing the role of Wesley’s ex-girlfriend Natalie Flynn, who just so happens to also be the father of his kid. She works as a emergency room in the area, and his family is the primary reason why Wesley decided to move to Los Angeles in the first place.
