Cable Ratings: Queen of the South, Cloak & Dagger, and Shooter season 3
Queen of the South – Let’s kick things off here with the USA drama, which is pretty high on the list of series that need to be brought back sooner rather than later. This past episode of the show generated a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and, beyond that, 1.12 million viewers. Given that the series is down less than 5% year-to-year in both key measurements, we have no idea why the network would choose to wait that long on bringing the series back.
We don’t want to consider anything in the TV world to be a slam dunk, but this is as close to a sure thing as you’re going to find in cable TV.
Shooter – Now, let’s get to the timeslot companion for Queen of the South on Thursday night. This show managed to generate in total a 0.2 rating and almost 700,00 total live viewers for this past episode, and we cannot imagine that USA is altogether thrilled right now. On average right now Shooter is down more than 30% in both measurements versus the season prior, and based on the fact that they recently canceled Colony, you have to think that they could easily do the same here.
Ultimately, we’re worried here about the future of the show. If you want to save it, the best advice we can offer is to ensure that you watch live and try to boost the numbers up!
Cloak & Dagger – While we understand that the comic adaptation has already been renewed, we do think that there’s value in reporting things. This past episode generated a 0.2 rating and just over 400,000 viewers, which is okay by Freeform standards, but also a pretty big drop in viewers from the week prior. We don’t like how much the show has fallen throughout this season, but we’re hoping that many of these viewers are still watching — even if they’re not doing so live.
