Fear the Walking Dead season 4 episode 9 trailer shows Alicia’s journey
In the video below, you can see Alicia in a little more of prominent position among the group, developing even more courage and bouncing back from the death of her mother in a way that feels like she is starting to become even more like her. One of the things that we expected going into the second half of the season was that the show would morph into being something more of her own — she and Lennie James (Morgan) are now the clear leads, and Alicia is really the only character still there who was there in the pilot. It’s her journey that we are the most invested in and it seems like overall, there’s a lot to like about the remaining episodes.
Specific characters aside, the second half of this season feels pretty incredible. It is anchored in part by some excellent music and a fun sort of switching between various tones. We’ve got something a little more serene mixed with complete chaos and despair. That’s not much of a shock, given that one of the things that was hyped up over the past few weeks is a switching around of genres … plus also a massive storm that could prove to be every bit as problematic as anything that we are going to see coming up with some of the zombies. As a series, it does appear as though Fear the Walking Dead has a reasonably good idea of the show that it wants to be now; it’s coming off of an excellent start to the season, and that’s great … even if it does also raise expectations for whatever is coming in the second half.
