Arrow season 7 filming officially begins in Vancouver

Arrow

For everyone ready for Arrow season 7 to air on The CW come Mondays this fall, we are at least another step closer to it happening. Today marks the first official day of filming and with that, we imagine more news is going to start coming in about the future sooner rather than later.

As the most below via Juliana Harkavy (Dinah Drake) reminds you, everyone should be getting suited up again and back to doing some of what they do best! Filming will be going on in the Vancouver area over the course of the next several months — more than likely until April — and with that, there are going to be a number of interesting stories that the producers will have the ability to touch on. For starters, what’s going to happen with Oliver’s imprisonment, how long will he be there, and are there going to be any other characters who step up in his place? The show is a very different world now and the changes in the cast prove that. Paul Blackthorne is no longer a series regular; meanwhile, Colton Haynes is returning full-time in the role of Roy Harper. One of the biggest changes is actually happening behind the scenes, as Beth Schwartz is stepping into the role of showrunner, replacing Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle, who held the post together last year.

Meanwhile, we do hope that Dinah, Rene, and Curtis get a storyline coming up that allows them to be more aligned with some of the other characters and explores their history and relationships in more of a positive way. We feel like the writers vastly underrated back in season 6 the impact of the OTA vs. NTA storyline. It divided fans much in the same way it divided different characters on the show.

We imagine that, at least in the early going, Arrow season 7 is going to try and keep some of the biggest details about the story under wraps. That could change in a couple of weeks when the series heads over to Comic-Con.
