Killjoys season 4 premiere spoilers: What to expect

Killjoys season 4

The Killjoys season 4 premiere is coming over to Syfy on Friday, July 20 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern, and going into it, obviously, there are going to be questions — including how Dutch is going to make it through her latest crisis. Beyond just that, there’s a sense of building towards something definite now. With the news firmly out there now that there are only two more seasons, that means that the show has to start to establish what the end of the road could be. We don’t expect that they will deliver definite answers to this subject this summer, but it’s probably something that they are going to work their way towards in due time. You know at least that we’re not just running around in circles.

To help to kick things off, we present to you below (via Canadian broadcaster Space and SpoilerTV) some of the first details regarding the season 4 premiere:

In the season opener “The Warrior Princess Bride” (Friday, July 20 at 10 p.m. ET), trapped in the mysterious and mind-bending greenspace and on the run from the deadly Lady, Aneela (John-Kamen), and her father Khlyen (Rob Stewart) struggle to stay one step ahead of the Lady, while keeping a wounded Dutch alive with a story that he promises will save her life: the tale of Dutch and Johnny’s first mission in the Quad. He tells the story of the time when, down to their last few Joy, Dutch and John accepted a simple cargo transportation gig to the armpit of the galaxy and how this led to them facing off with a deadly assassin.

There are two things that we love about these details, starting of course with the Princess Bride reference in the title. Beyond that that, we like that there is a sort of storytelling approach to the episode. In the midst of what can be at times a violent and crazy show, there’s an innocence present there that is fairly hard to replicate.
