Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington, Rose Leslie officially married!

Rose Leslie

Mrs. Carter: It may not have lasted for Jon Snow and Ygritte, but there’s wonderful news today for Kit Harington and Rose Leslie!

Today, the two Game of Thrones actors married in a ceremony at the Kirkton of Rayne church in Scotland. This was a ceremony attended by many of their fellow co-stars, including the likes of Maisie Williams (Arya), Sophie Turner (Sansa), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion), and others. With Game of Thrones production happening in Northern Ireland, the good news is that many of the actors may have been able to come over together for the ceremony.

While in some ways it absolutely makes sense for Harington and Leslie’s co-stars to be present at the ceremony, it’s even more of a testament to the bond these people have when you consider that not all of them worked together all that much! Harington was separate from Williams and Turner in the story for years, and he only recently just started working with Clarke. Meanwhile, the bulk of Leslie’s scenes were strictly with Kit prior to Ygritte being killed off in a manner in which I still haven’t emotionally recovered from.

Since wrapping Game of Thrones, Leslie has appeared in Downton Abbey (where she also appeared before doing the HBO series), Luther, and also her current gig on CBS All Access’ The Good Fight. Harington is busy wrapping up his work as Jon Snow and in the aftermath of that, he’s already said that he plans on drastically changing his appearance. I imagine that after so many years of having a beard and rather-long hair, it will be nice for him to shake things up a little and have a chance to be anonymous for a certain stretch of time.

Congratulations to the happy couple! Here’s to hoping that this wedding is just the start of many other great things to come for them.
