Sophie Turner’s Game of Thrones tattoo is not a spoiler at all

Game of Thrones

Because of the way that the internet works in 2018, we’re not altogether shocked that people wanted to read into Sophie Turner’s Game of Thrones tattoo as some sort of big spoiler.

If you recall, Sophie’s tattoo (which you can see here or in the video below from The Late Late Show) reads “The pack survives.” This caused fans to think that Sansa had survived the end of the final season. As it turns out, there are no guarantees. Here is what the actress had to say to Corden on the subject:

“It’s just a quote from last season … Everyone figures that the pack really does survive, but it’s just a moral that I like to live by.”

Really, we should just consider this another reminder that sometimes, we don’t need to read as much into things as we do. It’s okay for a tattoo to just be a tattoo in a commemoration of someone’s long journey on a still like this. More so than anything else, it’s rather awesome that Sophie would want to get a tattoo of a wolf in the first place. It’s clearly a sign that Game of Thrones meant more to her than pretty much anything in her career.

For us, the struggle goes beyond just determining the meaning of a tattoo. We are dealing with something much more severe, as we await whenever the Game of Thrones season 8 premiere date is going to be. We can only hope that there is a little bit more news later this year, but for now our expectation is that there will be episodes airing within the first half or so of 2019 … or so we hope. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Of course, we should say that out of all the members of house Stark, we are the most confident that Sansa is going to make it out of there okay. She has had the trajectory from someone who is a survivor, and someone who learned from her mistakes. She has learned to be strategic and careful in a way that some of her siblings have not.
