Jersey Shore Family Vacation ratings rise with Angelina’s return
Thursday night’s new episode, per TVbythenumbers, ended up posting in total a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That was up a sizable amount from the week prior, and that’s with us starting to move into summer television season (let alone people watching pre-game shows for the NBA Finals). What this means is that there was a good chunk of viewership that either responded to the return of Angelina, as short-lived and controversial as it was to some of the other housemates, or simply just felt like watching the show live last night.
It’s not exactly easy to gauge the full audience response on this sort of thing so with that in mind, the easy assumption that MTV has to make here is that viewers responded to Angelina coming back on the show. We wouldn’t be surprised, as a result of that, if the network tried to find a way to bring her back for some sort of larger role on the second season of the program. The appeal for Angelina has to be there, given that had she stuck around and not caused as much trouble in Miami the first go-around, she’s probably looked at as a reality TV icon of equal measure with many of the other cast members. Because she didn’t do that, however, she was really left up to their mercy last night.
As we wrote last night, there is an easy reason to imagine that MTV would want to bring Angelina back — they may just need another cast member! Unless Sammi returns for season 2, the cast is short a female cast member. Angelina could fill that void.
