Killing Eve finale ratings continue incredible trend

Killing Eve season 2 premiere date

The Killing Eve finale ratings are now in courtesy of BBC America, and there is one thing that they remind us of more than anything else — the incredible strength and momentum that this series has.

Basically, what this eight-episode first season has done is set the stage for BBC America to have an original series that could be a huge player for them for many years to come.

Per a new report coming in via Deadline, the recent finale ratings (via the official live+3 numbers drew around 1.25 million viewers), continues the incredible trajectory of improvement for this series. Every single week the Jodie Comer – Sandra Oh drama managed to improve in total viewers, and that is something that is almost unprecedented in the world of cable. More and more viewers are discovering the series and, to go along with that, more and more viewers are liking what they are seeing.

One of the things that CarterMatt thinks best serves Killing Eve as a series now in the long-term is that the first season is only eight episodes. Because of that, viewers are going to be left wanting more and when season 2 premieres in 2019, we can easily foresee it continuing to improve in the numbers. This is something that has greatly aided another series in Game of Thrones which has shown an incredible ability to draw more and more viewers with every passing season. It would certainly be quite nice to see the show now execute something similar. It has the performances and the story to be the sort of program viewers talk about for quite some time.

In a statement, Sarah Barnett, president of BBC America, had the following to say about the ratings growth:

“From the very start, we felt we had something smart, exciting and different with Killing Eve, and hoped viewers would see what we saw … Thanks to Phoebe [Waller-Bridge], Sandra, Jodie and everyone else who brought this series to life. Shows like Killing Eve not only engage and entertain, they create vibrant and passionate fandoms, and that has certainly been the case here. Thanks to the truly remarkable Killing Eve fans, both for spreading the word about the series and for how vocal and creative they’ve been in expressing their love for this show.”
