Killing Eve season 2 premiere date hopes for BBC America drama

Killing Eve season 2 premiere date

Following tonight’s finale, when will the Killing Eve season 2 premiere date? We imagine that being a question many people out there want an answer to!

Ultimately, here’s what we can tell you at the moment: There will be a Killing Eve season 2 coming up at some point in the future, most likely in the new year. While there was a good bit of hype for the BBC America series going into it, we do think now that it has found a way to defy expectations in a wonderful, beautiful way. For the past seven weeks, the show has increased its audience in all of the key demos every single week in live+3 viewing. This is the first time that this has happened for a scripted television series in the past TEN YEARS. That’s incredible growth that is showing that word of mouth is spreading for the series — which doesn’t surprise us, given the popularity of Sandra Oh dating back to her days on Grey’s Anatomy. Combine her with a great story and you have something that feels more or less like a sure-fire winner.

At the time in which the renewal was announced (which was actually earlier this year), BBC America president Sarah Barnett had the following to say:

“This show has the thunder of women on both sides of the chase in Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer and, importantly, behind the camera with the lavishly brilliant Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The early response to Killing Eve has been incredible — for that reason, as well as the fact that we wholeheartedly love this original, funny, thrillingly entertaining series, we are delighted to move ahead with a second season before we even premiere.”

Based on what happens with the finale tonight, we’re certainly that there are probably many exciting directions a second season of Killing Eve could go based on the story. Rest assured, we are more than a little bit excited to see it in action.
