Next week on NBC you are going to have a chance to dive into Brilliant Minds season 2 episode 20 — so what more can we say about it?

Well, for starters, this is a story for the Zachary Quinto drama that is more important than most. We are talking here about the series finale, one that has the challenge of trying to tie up as many loose ends as humanly possible. NBC canceled the show some time ago and we’ve known that this moment is coming — unfortunately, it has also been long enough now to realize that we are probably not going to be seeing the series find a new home elsewhere. This means that we have to hope there is some real closure to a number of the stories that are ahead. As has been the case for a lot of the show so far, we imagine a mixture of medicine-based plotlines and personal revelations.

Carol and Thorne deal with their own medical mystery: a patient harboring a huge secret. Van returns and helps Ericka and Dana through their own personal crises. TV-14

Unfortunately, do not be shocked if there are a few dangling threads here and there. While this is not something we necessarily want to see, at the same time it is something that we have prepared for. The scripts for the final episodes of the season may have been written far before the cancellation was announced; we just hope that no matter what, we can walk away here emotionally satisfied.
