Dancing with the Stars 35: Derek Hough teases cast

We know that the cast for Dancing with the Stars season 35 is slowly starting to come together, with Guillermo Rodriguez of Jimmy Kimmel Live! being among the recent additions. We certainly think that some more names are going to be released before too long, but how much do people behind the scenes already know?

As it turns out, the answer here seems to be more than anyone is aware on the outside.

Speaking in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter all about what is ahead on the ballroom competition, judge Derek Hough noted that he has been clued in already on some of the additional stars asked to be on board:

“We have a really good cast … There are some people that I know are waiting in the wings. I’ve been told some of the people that are going to be on the next season. It’s going to be a great one.”

In true ballroom fashion, it is our general expectation at this point that we are going to hear of a handful of names over the next few weeks from all different sorts of entertainment. Our feeling is that there will be some other reality TV stars plus an athlete or two, a few actors, and maybe someone completely out of left field. The recent success for DWTS in general shows that one of their real keys to success is finding people who appeal across a number of different generations. The more that this happens, the better opportunity there is to get viewers discussing and debating what could be coming up next.
