Outlander season 4 filming returning to familiar location

Outlander

For those of you looking for some more Outlander season 4 filming updates, rest assured — we’ve got the latest one for you within this particular piece!

According to a new report coming in via Twitter, on Monday the series’ production is going to be returning to Cumbernauld Glen, a location in which they were at earlier this season. It appears as though filming is only going to be there this time for one day, and it may just be to film a brief scene featuring one of the actors. Judging from the way in which it was used last time, this is likely going to be for a scene set in America in the past — the production team have figured out that the Glen is one of the places that can effectively double as North Carolina within Scotland. In the times in which we have seen the crew heading out on location, public parks have been a pretty common stop for them along the way. It makes some sense given that they are well-cared for (making it easier on production from the jump) and that they’re far away from some traditional visages that you would consider to be iconic to Scotland.

We do not love to speculate or guarantee specific cast members will be in attendance, largely because we know this is the sort of place people could travel to hoping to see someone. Basically, what we are saying here is that we don’t want to generate any false hope that you may be able to see a famous face only for it to not end up being the case. Still, you could potentially get a glimpse of TV magic in action if you are to show up.

Remember now that Outlander season 4 filming is going to keep going for potentially a few more weeks — it feels like the conventions happening at the end of next month mark the conclusion of this era, and then following that some actors will go off to do some other things. We know that Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan each have some new roles locked in, and with filming for season 5 not starting until early next year, they have some time to work on some interesting projects. (We do have a piece forthcoming that is all about the value in the cast’s offseason projects, so that is something to keep your eyes peeled for over the coming days.)
