Timeless season 2 finale start time delayed; does that hurt renewal effort?
Because of NBC’s programming schedule running a little bit late due to golf, the final two episodes did not come on at the previously-scheduled time. They were around eleven or twelve minutes late and in that time, Genius Junior continued to run. While the show is still going to air in its entirety, this does mean that the finale will operate somewhat within the standard ratings window. That’s not good, especially since Timeless is a family show. Now, it’s going to be even harder for families to stick around and watch the very end of it.
Is it possible that these eleven minutes could cause the series to end? We hope not, but we also don’t think it will. NBC has to be able to take the delay in mind; if they don’t, clearly they already had their mind made up or they are secretly a part of Rittenhouse. No matter what, NBC has their work cut out for them trying to determine the future of the series given that if they cancel it, they are going to have to deal with a throng of very angry fans who had to wait so long to see a decision be made.
Beyond just the ratings, we’re writing this in hopes that some people out there are going to see it who had set their DVRs — you want to make sure that they are properly set so that you don’t miss a single second of the finale. Without spoiling anything, this is a fantastic send-off to the series and we hope that it’s not going to be the end of the road for the show as a whole.
