Gotham season 4 episode 22 (finale) spoilers: ‘No Man’s Land’ is here

Gotham season 4 episode 22

Sometimes titles can mean a great deal when it comes to the story of a given show, and we absolutely think that is the case when we are speaking about Gotham season 4 episode 22. The title for this episode is “No Man’s Land,” and this story is meant to serve as some sort of reference to an iconic Batman story featuring a cataclysmic event. There has been something of this nature teased on the series for a little while now and this is the episode where everything could finally come to fruition. Be prepared for something big, dramatic, and desperate from start to finish featuring a ton of action coupled with a number of surprises. All indications suggest that the world both before and after this episode are going to be very much different from each other.

Below, the Gotham season 4 episode 22 synopsis offers up a good sense as to some of what could be coming here:

Jeremiah warns a skeptical Gordon of more destruction coming Gotham’s way, and Gordon is forced to make a potentially devastating decision. Meanwhile, Barbara rallies together a team to secure her position, as alliances in the underworld shift and prove no one can be trusted. Then, Bruce is forced to come to terms with the future in the all-new “A Dark Knight: No Man’s Land” season finale episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, May 17 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

There are a few different takeaways that we have from reading that.

1. How skeptical should Gordon be? – Given that Jeremiah may have some very Joker-like tendencies at this point, there’s a perfectly good reason to not believe anything that he is saying at this particular moment in time.

2. What’s Barbara really going to do? – She may not be the Demon’s Head but she does have an army. How she chooses to properly employ it could be one of the things that culminates her story this season?

3. Is Bruce about to become Batman? – We don’t think that we can necessarily say that at the moment, but we are able to say at least this with some confidence — he’s going to be closer to this character than at any other point in the series. It’s a great foundation for season 5, provided of course that Fox does the right thing and renews it.
