Chicago Fire season 6 finale spoilers: Casey, Dawson’s big debate
As for whether or not that’s going to happen in the finale or at some point down the road, that’s the mystery that we’re left to wonder at the moment. Speaking on the subject in a new piece via TVLine, executive producer Derek Haas teased the following:
“Dawson realizes she wants to try again for having a child. So she and Casey contemplate their future and the future of their family.”
Hopefully, this does mean that these characters are going in this direction down the line — we definitely do know that they deserve a chance to build their family and have a life they’ve always wanted. There will probably be some roadblocks that come up for the two of them along the way, most notably when it comes to the danger of their job. That’s still something that they would have to reconcile as parents, but we do think that they’re at least in a better position than they’ve been in the past. Dawson as a paramedic isn’t running into as many burning buildings. Meanwhile, Casey’s promotion to Captain allows him to oversee operations a little bit more. There’s still danger, but it is mitigated however much it can be.
