The Blacklist season 5: Prepare for Reddington – Ian Garvey showdown

Are you ready for Wednesday night’s new The Blacklist season 5 episode? Well, the title here is “Ian Garvey: Conclusion” and at the center of it is going to be a showdown like no other. You’ve got Raymond Reddington on once side and then Garvey on the other. We know that Reddington will make it through alive (after all, it’s hard to talk about the series without James Spader in the mix), but what we do really wonder at the moment is this: If Garvey is gone, how will he go away? What happens to the bones and the duffel bag? These are both good questions, but they’re questions we don’t have an answer to as of yet.

For a little bit more news regarding what’s coming, just take a look at what show executive producer Jon Bokenkamp had to say in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly:

“Ian Garvey knows that if he kills Reddington, he may never really understand the contents of this bag … Raymond Reddington knows that if he kills Ian Garvey, he may never get to this bag, so they’ve been in a bit of a détente, and that détente is going to end. It’s gonna be a lot of fun. It’s gonna involve some magic tricks and perhaps a bit of a heist or two, and some sleight of hand; it’s a really fun episode.”

We’re hoping that by the end of this episode, we’ll have some answers — such as who now has the bones and what the plan is for them — even if we don’t have all of them. after all, at the moment we don’t exactly anticipate there being much information out there about the identity of said bones until closer to the finale. That’s the biggest mystery that the series has at the moment, so why in the world would the show want to go ahead and reveal it now?

Of course, there’s also one other key component to this story that cannot be forgotten under any circumstance: Liz. She wants revenge for what happened to Tom, and she is likely going to be a major player for everything that happens with Garvey on Wednesday night.
