Arrow season 6 episode 20 preview: Rick Gonzalez returns

Arrow

What’s coming up on Arrow season 6 episode 20? Much of this begins with the news of a returning character: Rene!

The return of Wild Dog (played by Rick Gonzalez) is probably going to be met with a wide range of emotions. For much of season 5, we’ll say that we were a staunch Wild Dog defender. We loved getting a chance to see some of the character’s backstory; the more we knew about him, the more we understood him. Yet, making him so unlikable in going against the original team this season swerved him off into another direction. It’s one thing to have a disagreement with Oliver, Diggle, and Felicity; it’s another altogether to do some of the things that he, Curtis, and Dinah did. It’s hard to figure out just how he’s going to come back from that and become a character viewers can like again. (Even if they do try to redeem him, some viewers may feel like it doesn’t change anything, hoss. Had to get that line in here somewhere.)

Below, the Arrow season 6 episode 20 synopsis offers up some more insight regarding the show:

RENE RETURNS TO NTA – Oliver (Stephen Amell) turns to an old friend to help battle Diaz (guest star Kirk Acevedo). Meanwhile, Rene (Rick Gonzalez) is out of the hospital but has a hard time re-adjusting to life as Wild Dog. Also, Lance (Paul Blackthorne) discovers something shocking about Black Siren (Katie Cassidy). Alexandra La Roche directed the episode written by Wendy Mericle & Rebecca Bellotto (#620). Original airdate 4/26/2018.

Even if you don’t like Rene it certainly does seem as though there are a lot of interesting storylines that could be coming in this episode. We’re building towards a pretty epic showdown at the end of the season between Oliver and Diaz; hopefully, this lives up to the billing.
