Lucifer season 3 episode 21 preview: The aftermath of Cain’s choice

Lucifer season 3 episode 17

What is coming up on Lucifer season 3 epsiode 21? Many different things, starting with the aftermath of what Cain chose to do with Chloe.

For those who missed tonight’s new episode “The Angel of San Bernardino” (read our full review over at the link here), at the very end Cain decided that he didn’t have it in him to continue to be cruel to Chloe only to later disappear on her. With that in mind, he stopped pursuing and manipulating her. Following that, Lucifer got some revenge on him only to realize one thing: Cain’s mark is gone. With that, is the entire dynamic different? Is he cursed to continue to walk this earth? There are many questions worth wondering and some of them could be answered in the (hilariously-titled) “Anything Pierce Can Do I Can Do Better.” We imagine that this is a reference to Lucifer’s attempts to make Chloe forget about Pierce by trying to one-up everything that he was doing within their relationship.

The Lucifer season 3 episode 20 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below offers up a little bit more insight now as to what you can expect to see moving forward:

When a prima ballerina is brutally murdered, Lucifer helps Chloe solve the case and attempts to keep her focus away from Pierce. Amenadiel begs Charlotte to help him with an important plan, and Maze remains devoted to a task from which Pierce asked her to back away. Then, Chloe confronts Lucifer about his meddling in her life, but as he’s about to make a huge confession, he finds out something that changes everything in the all-new “Anything Pierce Can Do I Can Do Better” episode of LUCIFER airing Monday, April 23 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Probably the most fascinating thing about this synopsis is the fact that apparently, Maze is still interested in moving forward with her own plan even if Cain doesn’t want to do it anymore. Who would’ve thought at this point in the season that Maze would end up being even more of an adversary for Lucifer than Marcus is? That’s a fun twist and one of many things to be excited about regarding the season.
