Blue Bloods season 8 episode 19 video: Why are Jamie, Eddie suspended?

Blue Bloods season 8

When Blue Bloods season 8 episode 19 airs on CBS, one thing feel pretty clear: Jamie and Eddie’s jobs are on the line.

In the sneak peek below, you can see Will Estes and Vanessa Ray’s characters discuss at length what transpired with them following a car chase. While they feel as though they handled their job in the right way, apparently their boss felt the need to throw the two of them under the bus in order to protect their own hide. That means, in turn, that if Jamie and Eddie don’t do anything about it, the two of them could be facing a rather-lengthy suspension without something altogether close to a clear recourse.

For Jamie, he sees the clear recourse for the two of them being to try and fight some of the charges in the trial room. This doesn’t surprise us since he’s not afraid to take big risks in order to do what he feels needs to be done. Granted, it’s probably also a little bit easier for him to have this gung-ho attitude than it is for Eddie. As the son of the Commissioner, he probably has more leeway than what Eddie does. She’s more worried about going this route in fear that it could have more in the way of widespread consequences for her.  She’s afraid of her career getting in jeopardy because of this; yet, Jamie in turn feels like in the event that they two don’t make a move on this, being suspended for a month is going to have more long-term consequences.

Hopefully, at some point during this episode (entitled “Risk Management”) the two are able to figure out the right way to move forward … and also have some sort of discussion about their relationship in the process. Jamie seems ready to tell her more of how he feels, but the problem now is that she is in a relationship with someone else. Admitting to feelings now could be problematic, to say the least.
