The Flash season 4 spoilers: The ramifications of the Thinking Cap

Flash season 4

The Flash season 4 has revolved in part around the quest to stop DeVoe, and it’s been very difficult to find a way to win against this guy. This character is easily the Big Bad of the season, and to date it appears as though there is only one Thinking Cap that can be used to stop the character. That’s a tough thing to accept, given that you’re basically saying that the only way in which to stop a character like this is to corrupt one of your own in the process — Harrison Wells. (Or, technically, Harry in some ways has corrupted himself.) Using the Thinking Cap, the Earth-2 version of the character has become somewhat like DeVoe, although in the process he is potentially putting himself on the edge of doing something truly crazy.

At the moment, there is still no doubt that the Thinking Cap is useful — this almost feels like a situation in which you take on what you need to in the present in order to deal with the ramifications further. Ultimately, it does seem like some of these ramifications are going to be serious.

Below, series star Carlos Valdes (Cisco) had the following to say about what the cap could do (via Entertainment Weekly):

“The biggest secret weapon that Team Flash has at the moment is the Thinking Cap … It seems to be the next logical step in taking down DeVoe is to match his intelligence. However, that situation starts to get complicated. Harry gets ahead of himself and some dark secrets come out that definitely complicate his relationship to the team, especially his relationship to Cisco.”

The easiest assumption that one could make here is that this cap will automatically turn Harry into the new version of The Thinker, but that’s not necessarily a sure thing. People have a tendency to react differently to certain stimuli and in this case, the Thinking Cap is one that could, in theory, produce all sorts of different options.

The Flash season 4 returns to The CW later this year with all-new episodes.
