Early NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 finale details: Where’s the team going?

If you did not know the NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 finale is going to be a two-hour affair and we certainly imagine one thing above all else: Drama. This is a show that often creates big events at the end of some of their seasons and we absolutely think that this time around is going to be no exception to the rule.

Granted, good luck to some of their producers if there hope is to somehow topple what the show did at the end of season 8 with Sam’s wife. That’s going to be brutal.

Here’s what we know about this episode as of right now. Per a report from Entertainment Weekly the two-hour finale will air on Sunday, May 20, and the team is going to be heading out of the country once more for a rescue mission. We recently saw many of them head to Vietnam in order to lend a helping hand to Hetty. This time around, the goal is to take off to Mexico in hopes to rescue someone tied to a “teammate’s family member.” That’s a somewhat abstract description and with that, it’s not altogether easy to narrow down the list of possibilities.

As for what makes this mission so significant, it mostly has to deal with the threat of danger and degree of difficult of it. While this team may be one of the most experienced ones under the sun, there are still situations that are going to throw them into enormous peril. They’re just a small team! There’s only so many bad guys they can take on at one time, even if they do have a tendency here and there to come across as a little superhuman.

What about a Kensi wedding?

We know that this is probably the thing in demand right now more so than anything else but if it is happening, the folks behind the scenes at the show are doing a mighty good job staying quiet about it. We’re still not getting that great of a sense as to when it could be taking place, whether it be the end of this season or the start of season 9. Were we not so confident that there was going to be an NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 at some point down the road, we’d probably be a little bit more fearful that we wouldn’t have a chance to see this moment.

Given that NCIS: LA has a tendency of creating some pretty great finales and intense cliffhangers, for the time being we’re certainly giving them the benefit of the doubt.
