Outlander notes: An event reminder; Richard Rankin, Sophie Skelton’s new booking

Outlander

CarterMatt has a couple of things worth pointing out in today’s Outlander notes, with the first one being a reminder to all fans in the Los Angeles area about the event that’s happening tonight. Toni Graphia and Diana Gabaldon are both going to be discussing the third season of the series to coincidence with the DVD / Blu-Ray release.

You can read some more information about this event over here. The RSVP list may be filled up as of this writing, but hopefully there are going to be some additional opportunities to learn about some of the discussion that will be had there. You can also see below that there is an online Q&A session also happening featuring Gabaldon and Graphia. This means an opportunity to get some more insight on the writing of both the series and the show. Diana is responsible for the series and is one of the primary reasons why we’re even able to write about the show; meanwhile, Graphia is the executive producer who oversees the writers room and many matters on that end of things.

Basically, if you love all things pertaining to Outlander writing there’s a lot to be excited about. This should help to tide all of us over until the series returns a little bit later this year. Also, we hope that it helps to keep the discussion going about the series leading into Emmy campaign season.

More convention news, this time featuring Richard Rankin and Sophie Skelton

If you love Roger, Bree, and the actors responsible for the roles, odds are that you’re going to love this! Both Rankin and Skelton are going to be present at the upcoming official Outlander Convention being held in Las Vegas from July 13 through July 15! This marks a great opportunity to see the two in person and it further adds to the depth of what is looking to be one of the biggest show-related conventions this summer. You can read some more news about what Creation Entertainment is doing to create unique experiences for these conventions over here.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know whether or not there will be an official Outlander presence in the form of the cast and crew at San Diego Comic-Con, but this should prove to be an exciting opportunity to see the cast in a new place — but also get in a show or walk the strip since this is Las Vegas and there is really never a dull moment there.

Hopefully, this event is just a precursor to a number of other exciting events coming for Rankin and Skelton this season; after all, early indications suggest that season 4 is the biggest yet for their characters — and also the most trying.
