Blue Bloods season 8 episode 18 video: Jamie, Eddie, and Barry
In the video HERE, you can get a small sense as to what is coming up courtesy of the arrival of Barry, a man who just so turns out to be Eddie’s new love interest. If you’ve missed some of our other reporting regarding this episode in advance, how this case starts out is with Eddie getting shot in the midst of the case; she receives medical treatment, but judging from how she appears in this scene she seems to be fine.
Barry shows up in order to help drive Eddie home, and the two apparently have a rather-interesting history. They pursued something romantically in the past, but eventually slowed things down due in part to Eddie constantly talking about Jamie off the job. She tried to calm Barry by telling him that Jamie is, more or less, her “work husband.” Apparently, he buys that enough to be back in a relationship with her. If it was us, we wouldn’t really buy into that. There is obviously a whole lot more going on here and Eddie’s kidding herself if she thinks otherwise.
Just by the facial reaction of Jamie alone, it’s very clear that there is more to this relationship in his eyes. He wants there to be something more between the two, but we figure that the same problems are there that have always been, including concerns over the future of their partnership in the event that they ever get together. Personally, we still don’t understand why they don’t just hide it for a while — who says that these two need can’t keep their relationship out of work?
Hopefully, this is the episode that really reawakens some of the feelings that Jamie has for Eddie and makes him realize that there is only so long that he is willing to push them away. Remember that it’s been over a year now since the two first had that kiss. It feels like now is the time for things to change and it would absolutely benefit the show more if they did.
