Deception season 1 episode 4 preview: Cameron investigates a psychic’s death

Deception

ABC has released the promo and synopsis for Deception‘s fourth episode and CarterMatt has both of them here for you. This episode is definitely sounding like a fun one, as Cameron and Kay will be tracking down the person who killed a psychic. Check out the synopsis:

“When a psychic is murdered, Kay and Cam investigate only to learn she had a partner who’s now on the run. Enlisting her help, Cameron and the team take down an international arms dealer.”

Right off the bat this case seems like something that would interest Cameron since psychics and magicians work in very similar ways. What also intrigues us right away is that Cameron and Kay are going to get more than they bargained for when the psychic’s partner can help them take down an international arms dealer. To the FBI, being able to take down an international arms dealer is a total win, but at what cost? There’s obviously going to be some challenges and twists and turns and we can’t wait.

To start the promo off (which you can check out below), Cameron is going to be enlisting Johnny’s help once again. However, Johnny doesn’t seem thrilled by the opportunity. He could be as the episode continues, but something in his voice suggest he could be growing impatient about waiting for Cameron to get him out. Next the promo flashes to Cameron saving a woman from falling into some body of water. When we first saw this, we thought they were showing the ending of the episode and we were kind of confused. However, the scene quickly flashes to a woman running away from armed men. We are assuming that the woman running is the psychic’s partner who is somehow connected to international arms dealer.

From here, the promo gives quick shots of the people Kay, Mike, and Cameron will be interviewing and investigating. They include people reacting to Cameron being a magician and then teasing exchanges between Kay and Cameron.

Overall, this episode is going to steer us one way and then quickly make a turn, which is great because that’s exactly what we want in a crime/mystery series. We want to be lead down one path and then be proven wrong by the end. It’s exciting and it gets us to come back the next week hoping we can out smart the writers and guess the killer. We look forward to this Sunday’s episode.
