Game of Thrones season 8 will feature new look for Jaime Lannister
Speaking in a new interview with ShortList, series star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau confirmed that you will be getting a chance to see Jaime sport a new look, one that will have a beard but with much shorter hair. Given that this is another new era for the show, that means apparently that Jaime found the time in his schedule to get someone out to trim his hair.
Here is a little bit more of what he had to say on the subject:
He was due a haircut. Especially after spending two seasons dragged through the mud. There was a big change in the character, so a haircut is a way to signal that.
Ultimately, we do hope that this new look is in some way a reflection on whatever the new attitude is going to be for Jaime Lannister on the final season. Our hope is that we will get a chance to see a redeemed version of Jaime moving forward in season 8, one that gets to separate from Cersei and find a way in which to make Westeros better. While it may be nice to be power-hungry and to constantly seek the throne, at the same time it’s somewhat worthless unless there is a throne to actually seize. There is a mystery at present in regards to just how the White Walkers can be defeated, but rest assured they need to be in order for the power struggles to return in the way in which they once were there.
