The Walking Dead season 8 finale may end up resolving All Out War

Walking Dead season 8

The All Out War storyline has been a key component for much of The Walking Dead season 8, but based on some of the current information that is out there, it does appear as though it could be coming to an end before too long … potentially even in the season 8 finale. Everything is continuing to bubble and build, and by the end of the season we’ve got a good feeling that things are going to become truly crazy.

For the time being, though, you’re not getting too much when it comes to specifics via showrunner Scott M. Gimple. Instead, here is what he recently had to say per TVLine on the subject:

“We will see a resolution of the war … It might not be what people are expecting. It might not be what some of the characters even want. But it is a conclusion, and they have to deal with its aftermath.”

Gimple does also seem to recognize on some level the differing opinions that are out there on this season and some of the criticism that he’s faced. We’re not sure that there is any real way to win some people over but it certainly does seem as though he is going to try:

“I pray to God that they are satisfied … I really hope they are. It is a war. There are casualties along the way, and it is incredibly tough business. But it only shows just how deeply connected these characters are and how their fates are tied together, even if some of them don’t want them to be.”

This is not going to be an easy landing for Gimple to stick, given that the reaction to The Walking Dead season 8 has so far been so all over the map. Really, the best thing that he can possibly hope for is that there is some sort of conclusion that makes at least the percentage of fans still watching happy. After all, we’re not altogether sure that he is going to be able to win over some of the people who have already left.
