Lucifer season 3: The hype for the final episodes is real

Lucifer season 3 episode 17

Just in case you didn’t have a reason to be hyped up for Lucifer season 3 before, we do think that you’ve got a reason to be now — at least judging from what series star Tom Ellis had to say on the subject.

In a new post on Twitter, Ellis confirmed that the last five episodes of season 3 are, at least per his own estimation, “some of the best” that the team has ever made. We don’t think that Ellis is the sort of guy who practices in hyperbole, so if he says something like that he means it.

Also, it probably does not even take a message from Ellis for you to know that some of the final episodes for Lucifer this season are going to be both ridiculous and also entertaining and dramatic — just look at where some of the pieces are at the moment on the chessboard. You’ve got Lucifer Morningstar wrestling with his feelings for Chloe Decker, while also trying to do his job alongside the LAPD. Add to this the presence of Marcus Pierce a.k.a. Cain, who is really just trying to use Chloe for the sake of his own personal gain, and you’ve got yet another reminder that Lucifer’s emotional state at the moment is about to start careening into overdrive at any given moment.

Could we make a wishlist of everything that we want to see? Sure. Think along the lines of fun cases, Lucifer singing, a little bit of romance, and some good character-focused stuff for Maze, Amenadiel, and the rest of the supporting cast. (This feels like the sort of thing we could say for every season.)

If there is one thing that we can say with some certainty right now when it comes to the final episodes this season, it’s more than likely that there will be a lot to resolve. Not only do the writers have to figure out if Tom Welling’s arc is a one-season deal, but they also have to determine where they want to leave off the Lucifer – Chloe relationship and also determine whether or not there will be a cliffhanger leading up to a season 4. Did we mention that we want a season 4? That sound be a given, but the video below is proof.
