Outlander season 4 looking for more indigenous performers in Canada
In a post on Twitter below, you can see (via a casting agency) a little more information regarding some of the dates and places that are being visited in both Edmonton and Calgary. The casting seems to be very similar to the call that was put out recently in North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The filming period (for those selected) could be from the middle of May until the middle of June, and we imagine that this is one of the most challenging parts about finding people in order to do some of these roles. You are effectively having to ask people to give up a huge chunk of their lives to do a job, and if they are already employed elsewhere it’s hard to take that much time off — even for a cool adventure like this. The production is paying once more for flights/hotel costs for everyone who makes the trip overseas in order to do the job.
This notice confirms that filming for season 4 is going to carry through until at least the middle of June — CarterMatt feels that it should conclude at some point around then due to the convention schedule that is already in place for some of the cast members after this point. This casting notice mostly just represents the level of commitment that the entire Outlander team continues to show in creating an environment that feels authentic — even if they are having to use Scotland as a double for much of North Carolina. There are many challenges that come with that but we’ve got plenty of confidence in the team’s ability to pull this off.

If you end up being one of the First Nations people chosen, congratulations! Enjoy the experience, but don’t necessarily expect that it is going to lead to an abundance of screen time. The focus is still going to be on the main characters; if you are lucky, you may be able to see yourself in a couple of scenes here and there.
Outlander season 4 will premiere on Starz later this year.
