Who died on The Walking Dead season 8 episode 11?

Dr. Carson dies

The Walking Dead season 8 episode 11 continued the (understandable) trend of characters dying. Yet, some are clearly more notable than others.

We don’t want to diminish the death that happened on this episode too much, given that there is a certain degree of significance to it. After all, Dr. Carson was an integral part of The Walking Dead for quite some time, and was a big part of the Savior operation. It’s with that in mind that it is somewhat surprising to see the character go and the way in which he did right now.

Given the time he spent with Gabriel, it makes a certain degree of sense that the Saviors would eventually decide to just do away with them. However, The doctor’s death at this point isn’t exactly great news for the Saviors, either. This basically means that they’re going to be without a doctor, one of the most important people that they could have around.

Does this stuff actually resolve some of the larger issues at the heart of The Walking Dead right now? Not exactly. This is a show still scrambling to find its ultimate purpose and she’s narrative with the death of Carl in the rear-view mirror. it still doesn’t necessarily feel as though killing off Carl with something that they absolutely had to do. It was shocking, but it was not appreciated. Of course, we are well aware of the fact that everyone clamors for a significant character and then get upset when it happens. This was just not the character who should have went.

This is your send-off for now to Tim Parati, an actor who played this part well over the course of a few episodes over the past few seasons. When you take a job like this, though, you have to do it with a certain degree of awareness that eventually, the story may be moving in a direction that ultimately leads to your death.
