The Walking Dead season 8 episode 12 preview: Hard times at the Hilltop

Walking Dead season 8 episode 12Judging from some of the early information out there the Hilltop will be a major part of The Walking Dead season 8 episode 12. The pieces are being laid out on the board once more and with that, the struggles are going to be carried over to a different (but hopefully still exciting) place.

The Walking Dead season 8 episode 12 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below gives you a little more of a sense as to precisely what could be coming up within this installment — though the series continues to not give all too much away insofar as details go:

Hilltop’s leadership faces a difficult dilemma after the arrival of unexpected visitors; Rick comes face to face with an adversary.

This episode, at least to us, needs to be some sort of a game-changer to propel you into what are the final four episodes of the season. We’re not sure that there has ever been a time in the entire history of The Walking Dead where there has been THIS much desperation when it comes to the series and its future. Just think about it in this way: Carl is gone from the show and, to go along with that, some of the ratings are now down from where they’ve been over the past several years. There isn’t a whole lot in the way of positive conversation out there about the series this season and this is the time in which AMC and the producers could start to change it. They really need to, at least if they want to have any real hope for the show to get any sort of momentum going again.

We are starting to feel that viewers are getting Negan fatigue since we have been watching this war for two full seasons now. If this doesn’t wrap up in some sort of way (Negan dies, Negan play nice with everyone, Rick’s group moves anywhere else in the United States where Negan doesn’t live) then we worry about the shows future. We don’t think it will be canceled by any means, but if it’s no longer a show people are excited about and are talking about then it’s a pretty sad way for a show like this to go out. This was a major player for a long time, but it’s lost it’s way the past few seasons. We’ve always liked this show best when it was about the characters stories and the fight against the walkers, more so when they are at war with some other group of people.
