The Originals star Joseph Morgan appearing in Fox’s Gone Baby Gone pilot
Sources confirm that Morgan is set to appear in the Fox drama pilot for Gone Baby Gone, which is based on the Ben Affleck directed movie of the same name. It has been co-created by Robert Levine of Black Sails fame and will revolve around private eye Patrick Kenzie as well as Angela Gennaro. Morgan is set to appear in the role of Kenzie, played by Casey Affleck during the movie. These two characters are going work together in the Boston borough of Dorchester in order to solve impossible problems — ones that are not even fixed by the legal system.
It’s easy to be excited about this role for Morgan, an exceptional actor who is getting a chance to transition over into some completely different material. The appeal of casting him should be clear in that he is coming on board with a dedicated following, and that plus the appeal of the book should be strong motivating factors in helping this series potentially get off the ground. It’s still too early to tell whether or not this series will be ordered but it’s off to a good start.
This news comes many weeks before the premiere of the final season of The Originals over on The CW. Because that series officially wrapped up shooting a little while ago, there’s nothing to be worried about in terms of possible scheduling issues. Hopefully, the publicity surrounding the end of The Originals is only going to help to build up more attention for Gone Baby Gone as a series.
