NCIS season 15 spoilers: Mike Wolfe of American Pickers to guest star!

NCIS season 15 is following up Drew Carey with another surprising guest star a little bit later this season — Mike Wolfe, best known for his work on American Pickers.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, it is some of Wolfe’s work that really leads to him being a part of an upcoming case — Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Ducky (David McCallum — he’s back!) are going to see him handling a 200-year war stick on TV. What does that mean to them? It turns out that this said stick may be tied to a case in which they are currently handling. Forces collide, and it turns out that Wolfe could be of use to them beyond just being a television star.

This guest spot, coupled with the Drew Carey appearance (read a little bit more news about that here), are apparently a part of a push by NCIS to try to put in some more familiarity into the episodes for the target demographic. It’s another incentive to get viewers watching live — it’s curiosity. For people like Carey and Wolfe, there’s zero incentive to avoid doing the guest spot. This is an opportunity for the two of them to do something that is very different than anything that they typically do in their day-to-day lives. We figure that there are probably a number of NCIS viewers who also watch American Pickers as well as The Price is Right. In that sense, this is more or less a win-win.

When is NCIS returning to CBS with new episodes?

Think in terms of Tuesday night! It’s been a few weeks now since the show was on the air and the thirst is very much out there to get some more content — that’s especially true when it comes to the nature of the content that we’re going to be getting. After the cliffhanger with Jack Sloane we’re eager to see what’s coming next. The same goes for getting Gabriel Hicks back into the series, given that he is to date the most notorious villain that we’ve seen this season.

Beyond this episode, the appearance featuring Drew Carey is currently slated to air in March.
