Nashville season 6 midseason finale: Will, Deacon, and danger
The story that had us almost the most immediately concerned was the one revolving around Daphne, who tried her hand at a singing competition. This came, in turn, after Deacon didn’t think that she was ready for it. She did it anyway, and what made things all the more complicated was that Jessie Cane’s ex Brad was one of the people responsible for running the show — not the sort of person Deacon wants Daphne around. Yet, this is precisely what she wanted to do and he didn’t want to stand in the way of that.
The larger problem when it comes to Jessie came via her son Jake, who didn’t have any interest at all in going along with Brad’s terrible plan to go to military school. This led to a really heated stand-off at Jessie’s place where Jake locked himself in a room and refused to come out.
We had a fear as to where this was going, and that fear was realized more as eventually Brad got violent with Jake — and, in turn, Deacon came in to stop the situation. The moment that he slammed Brad against a wall, Brad made it clear that legal trouble would be coming Deacon’s way.

As for the other major cliffhanger this week, Will’s recent struggles culminated in the character needing immediate medical attention in the wake of a live performance on The Chew. This was a scary moment for him and while we’re super-worried at present, we want to believe that he’ll be alive. Let’s just say that losing Chris Carmack this close to the end would be nothing short of devastating.
