Law & Order: SVU season 19 episode 15 to be significant Carisi story

Law & Order: SVU season 19 episode 15 is going to be a big installment for Sonny Carisi — basically, this is the series making our wish come true! We’ve advocated for a big Carisi story for a little while and it’s nice to see the series following up on that.

This episode is entitled “In Loco Parentis,” which is a Latin-based legal term basically meaning “in the place of a parent.” How that factors into the case remains to be seen, but signs point towards it being key to the end of the case.

Below, the SVU season 19 episode 15 synopsis makes it clear just how Carisi leads the charge on the case, and also how Peter Stone is going to be thrown more into the work that the SVU team does:

03/07/2018 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : Carisi (Peter Scanavino) opens a police investigation when his niece reports a classmate for sexual assault, and Stone (Philip Winchester) learns there are no perfect witnesses when it comes to sex crimes. Guest starring Susie Essman and Rachel Bay Jones.

You’re clearly getting a great guest cast in this episode led by Essman, and given that we’re dealing with children, this is not going to be an easy case. Our hope is that the victim or victims in this case are not easily manipulated. The Special Victims Unit already had its work cut out for them working with someone in Stone who they are still getting used to. He has his own way of doing things, and working with the Chicago PD is obviously very different than working with someone like Benson. We feel like past crossovers with Chicago PD and SVU have already made the differences rather clear.

SVU returns to the air on February 28, and there will hopefully be a nice run of episodes that take you through much of the month of March.
