Wentworth Miller leaving Legends of Tomorrow — for good this time?

Is Wentworth Miller leaving Legends of Tomorrow once and for all? Monday night’s new episode may suggest that.

In the closing minutes of the episode Miller’s Leo — the Earth-X version of Captain Cold a.k.a. Leonard Snart — left the Waverider in order to return home and propose to The Ray. It was a far happier end to his story than what happened to Captain Cold back in season 1, where he sacrificed himself for the sake of most of humanity. That ending was heartbreaking whereas this one was a little more muted.

Was this the final ending for Miller as Snart? It’s easy to draw that assumption but we don’t necessarily think that this is the case at all. While Miller has made it clear that it’s his plan at the moment to stop with this past appearance (there are no others in the works at the moment), he hasn’t ruled out coming back in the future depending on the story. The mystery there is how to make it happen given that his character his dead. At a certain point, you have to respect that. Leo is his own character so in some ways, we don’t really consider this version of him altogether similar to Snart at all.

Given that Miller could be doing Prison Break season 6, it does seem as though his screen time in the future, unfortunately, could also be limited because of that. Our hope is simply this: We get another appearance or two during season 4. (That season hasn’t been confirmed as of yet but feels likely.) He’s almost certainly done in season 3 given that there’s no real reason story-wise to bring him back. There was barely a reason to keep him around as long as they did this season other than it being a fun thing to do.
